Stella’s Home!!!!!!

So excited to see our Girl!

Even Papas excited to see Stella!

Even Papa's excited to see Stella!

Finally!!!!!!!!  We drove out to the kennel to get our little Stella yesterday afternoon.   Rob was tormenting me by thinking of things he needed to do at the last minute before we left.  I was anxious to get there right as the gates opened!!!   We hadn’t seen Stella in TEN DAYS!  TEN WHOLE DAYS!!!!!!!!!!  That’s a long time.   For Stella, in dog years….she hadn’t seen us in MONTHS!!!!  Would she remember us?  Would she be having so much fun she wouldn’t want to come home?  Had she grown so much we wouldn’t recognize her?
I had a nightmare while we were away…we went to go get Stella….and instead of picking up this:
Stella the Schnoodle!

Stella the Schnoodle!

They were telling us THIS was our dog:
Uh. Our Dog is not black and white......

Uh. Our Dog is not black and white......

And in the dream I’m all, “Um, our Stella is all black with a teeny bit of white….this isn’t our dog.”  And they’re all, “Why sure this is her…don’t you know your own dog?” ….and then I woke up in a panic that they loved our girl so much they were trying to keep her and pass off this other dog as ours.
Whew…..no worries.  When we got to the kennel…there was OUR Stella!  Cute as can be!  She did look taller….she DID remember us….and she did not seem to be holding a grudge at having not been taken on vacation with us.  We loaded her into the car…..
Look at her little eyes....shes exhausted!

I think she was too excited to sleep!

She did manage to find the energy to snurfle the back of Papas neck.

At one point she had her front paws on his shoulders and her tongue in his ear. She loves her Papa!

Eventually she was able to lay down and enjoy a little Tummeh Rub from Mama and relax for the rest of the ride home.

She had a tough Welcome Home…..got a nice brushing from Papa, some playtime in the yard, a big bowl of kibbles, some more Tummeh Rubs, lots of kisses, more playtime and managed to squeeze in a few pre-bedtime naps.  The super nice woman who runs the kennel said Stella had a great time playing with the other dogs….and commented on what a great personality Stella has!!!  We think so too!

This has nothing to do with Stella, but I wanted to post a photo of the beautiful lily that had bloomed in the front yard while we were gone….we didn’t even know we HAD lilies in the front yard!

A Beautiful Star Gazer Lily...we planted some of these in the backyard....they havent bloomed yet!
