Santa’s Been Watching You Stella……

“He knows if you’ve been bad or good…so be good for goodness sake!”  Apparently, Stella thought thinks that doesn’t apply to her.   Mama took her to see Santa this past weekend.

The Planet Dog Foundation (http://www.planetdogfoundation.org/)  did their annual “Sit With Santa” at the Planet Dog store (http://www.planetdog.com/home/).   As always with events put on by PDF….it was well organized and lots of fun!  You would think that a store full of dogs would be chaos, but it wasn’t!

They took a little photo of Stella and a number so that her photo could be easily found later.

After Mama squeezed on her Elf hat....they loaded her onto Santa's lap...

And with a little encouragement from a squeaky toy and lots of "What a pretty girl!"'s they started snapping away.

When Santa asked her if she'd been a good girl...Stella could not look him in the eye.

"What stick of butter? I don't know what you're talking about Santa."

"Yum. Butter."

Ho! Ho! Ho! I know a Schnoodle who's getting lots of coal!

"I should have listened to Mama. He DOES know if you've been bad or good."

Naughty, but super cute!!! That counts for something.

Maybe Santa will forget about the Naughtiness this year Stell and bring you a present anyway.

When the photo shoot was over, they printed off a copy of the best one to send home with you and posted the rest on flickr

(Stella’s are in Group #2, page 2.)

And Santa…..what a great Santa!!!!  He was so patient and nice….he had a lap full of dogs, kids….and he was always smiling!  I hear they raised $800 for the foundation!

We’ll see if Santa takes Stella’s cuteness and good behavior at the photo shoot into consideration.  I’m pretty sure he DID see her put her feet up on the counter and try to lick a donut in the store that day…..

Woofminster 2010

It occurred to me….that I haven’t posted a bunch of Stella photos…..the very least of which was the much anticipated Woofminster 2010 put on by the Planet Dog Foundation.  Yes…I know…last year Miss Stella placed Second in the Mystery Dog Contest Category…and was in the run for a shot at Cover Dog…..

So Sweet......

This year you're going to win it Stella!!!!

We've got a pocketful of her Southern Grammy's homemade biscuits....

"Can I have that now Mama?"

We even talked Papa into coming along for the fun.

Stella was super excited!

We got there nice and early.....

Lots of local vendors selling and promoting all kinds of things for dogs!

TROPHIES! Mama...I mean Stella...wanted one....

"I would like a trophy and a biscuit"

More on the festivities in Stella’s next post….

Spa Day for the Schnoodle!

A certain little someone…..was in need of a little grooming last weekend.

"I don't want a bath Mama."

Mama took Stella to Fetch  (http://fetchportland.wordpress.com/)  to look at a product she had seen online….it’s a great store here in Portland with lots of toys, food, treats, collars…..everything your dog could want….and Stella does like to be able to go into stores for herself to see things.

Mama wanted to check out the Happy Tails Canine Dog Spa ( http://www.happytailsspa.com/site/index.html)  items and this is the only shop in town that carries them.    We’ve tried a sample size of their Bubbles ‘n  Beads shampoo ( http://www.happytailsspa.com/BubblesnBeads ) and loved it!!  In particular, Mama was looking for the Shimmering Mist!!  The very nice woman behind the counter said she uses it on her dog and it makes her smell like a cupcake…..SOLD!

I caught the Schnoodle mid-nap upstairs in her room….and the grooming began….

"What's that Mama?"

You have to love something that adds "Bling and Brightness" and smells like cupcakes...

So you spray it on…..I gave her a good rub down and a brushing to work it into her hair….the Schnoodle does love a good rub down and brushing….

And look....she sparkles like a Cullen!!!

She's all smooth and tangle free....she sparkles...AND yes, smells like a cupcake.

Mama sparkled too...but I washed mine off....

Then we loaded Stella into the car and took her for a ride to one of her other favorite places in town…..

"The Dog Park? Are we going to the Dog Park?"

Nope Stella, Planet Dog where the very nice groomer cut Stella's nails. Not an easy feat when your squirmy dog has black hair and black nails. They do an excellent job here!!

She couldn't get back to the car fast enough....

...and went straight upstairs to her room for a nap.
